Care guide

During the Second World War, second-generation shoemaker Rolf Evensen turned old suitcases into shoes that lasted. Four generations on, we still build every pair to go the distance. A few minutes of care now and then is all it takes to keep them going.

01

Smooth leather

care

Leather is a natural material and needs moisture to stay supple. Apply a good leather wax regularly to stop the upper from drying out or cracking.

protect

After waxing, finish with protection spray to guard against water and stains.

02

Suede & nubuck

care

Brush gently with a suede brush to lift dirt and restore the nap.

protect

Suede and nubuck are porous, so apply protection spray often. It keeps water out and stops stains from setting.

03

Technical suede & Technical Nobuck

care

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. These need very little upkeep.

protect

An occasional coat of protection spray helps them handle wet weather even better.

04

Technical textiles & vegan materials

care

Spot-clean with a damp cloth.

protect

A light coat of protection spray helps the fabric repel dirt and liquids.

05

Polished leather & rubberised uppers

care

Wipe with a damp cloth, then buff with a little neutral shoe cream to keep the shine.

protect

A light coat of protection spray keeps water and dirt off the finish.

Wearing them in

New soles and leather soften with wear. Start with a few shorter outings and your pair will shape itself to your feet within a week or two.

Everyday habits

Let them dry naturally

If your shoes get wet, let them dry at room temperature, away from radiators and direct heat.

Give them a day off

Rotating between pairs lets the materials rest and recover their shape.
